TMP Apple Streusel

A simple warm breakfast or dessert that feels like a 'cheat' because it is so tasty!  
 
Ingredients: 

 

*Streusel Topping: 

  • 1 ½ cup almond flour 

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar 

  • 1 tsp cinnamon 

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, room temp (you can use avocado oil to make it vegan)

*Apple Filling: 

  • 3 apples, cored and chopped into 1/2 inch pieces 

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar 

  • 1 tsp cinnamon 

  • ½ tsp cardamom 

  • ¼ tsp cloves 

​

  • 4 x 8-oz. baking ramekins (or small oven-safe dishes) 
     

Preheat oven to 350F.In a small bowl mix all ingredients for streusel topping by hand or with hand mixer. In a medium bowl combine all apple filling ingredients and mix well. Add apple mixture to ramekins and pack down with ½ inch of streusel topping. Bake for 25-30 minutes until streusel topping is lightly browned. Serve warm or refrigerate (can re-heat as well). Top with almond slivers or 2 tbsp chia. 10 grams or protein per serving. 

 

TIP: Try mixing apple with other fruit such as blueberries!
